Books cost too much.
Flinders Press was founded by two friends, a writer and an illustrator, who spent more time in libraries than bookstores, because reading library books cost so much less. But owning the words, not just renting them, makes the stories more real, makes them your own. Returning a book to the library feels like abandoning a new found friend; like turning Oliver over to the orphanage, leaving Alice with the Queen of Hearts, abandoning Peter to fight the pirates alone, or condemning Harry to live with the Dursleys forever. The writer and the illustrator dreamed of the day they could buy cartloads of books at reasonable prices. Our mission is to provide timeless stories with captivating artwork to as many readers as possible at affordable prices.
We are currently seeking picture books, early readers, and chapter books by author/illustrators, or by writers who have teamed up with an artist to illustrate their work.
If you would like to submit a fully illustrated manuscript for review by our editors, please follow the instructions provided on our submission guidelines page.
